WEC Presentation to the Church of Scotland

Today, I was blessed to provide a Web-Empowered Church presentation to approximately 180 people from 11 presbyteries of the Church of Scotland. The event was held at Broom Parish Church in Glasgow, Scotland and hosted by our own WEC community member, Calum MacLeod from Cardonald Parish Church. (By the way, check out his website. It uses our new templates and looks great!) The presentation was especially easy for me because it was conducted from my living room at my home in Ohio. We used Skype audio, video, and desktop sharing to show the live presentation. Calum set up a microphone and camera so I could see the audience and could answer questions. It was a joy to meet brothers and sisters in Christ who are enthusiastic about web-empowering their churches. Special thanks to Calum for setting it all up.

Please let me know if you would like me to conduct a live remote presentation to your church group. You don't need to gather 180 people, but 18 would be nice. Please contact me to make arrangements. I think we both will enjoy it. And more importantly, I think we can help more churches become web empowered.

In Christ,
Mark Stephenson
WEC Director

I was there :) It was a great evening - thanks for your presentation.

My youngest had me up a bit early this morning, so I spent the time installed the starter package onto my personal webspace with a view to moving our existing church website across to WEC.

I've used Typo3 in the past (a few years ago), and it's good to see what you've done to make it accessible to churches. Looking forward to trying to munge our existing theme into a template :)

Thanks for linking to the Cardonald Parish website - very nice example for me to see what can be done.
