Subject: frontend user registration problem
Hi

I'm very pleased with the whole WEC installation but have one problem I can't get round. When a new user tries to register and misses a field out in the form it blanks the whole thing. I also get blank fields when I go to edit profile so you have to fill the whole form in again. I'm running the latest version and I see from the wec website that is can be done.

Can anyone help?
Thanks

Mark,

Did you start with the WEC Starter Package? It sounds like the form is not finding the storage folder where your frontend users are stored.

Yes I did start off with this. As far as I know I have it "pointing" at the Storage folder where they are kept. Which field do I need to double check for this?

It may also help to know that other than the blank fields the user registration works fine, and it is possible to delete an account from the frontend without problem. The only field which seem to reflect the profile is the attends this church one which is ticked or not appropriately. The rest are blank, either when you go to edit profile, or when you are creating an account from the frontend and miss a reuqired field out, you are presented with a blank form and have to re-enter everything. I am concerned this will put people off registering.

Thanks,
Mark

I've found the error. The template file on one of the versions was incorrect, hence the form name generated on the page was different to the one the javascript converted it to. Although this has been corrected on the user registration template I have noticed that WEC uses a different template file in a different directory which still has the bug in. Phew that was a big job.

God Bless and thank you for your help,
Mark

Hey Mark (Woodger, that is),
Can you let us know what version of the Starter Package you have? If you log in to the backend and go to Help->About WEC you should see the version listed at the bottom. Also, can you go to the Extension Manager and check the version of sr_feuser_register and wec_user?

Before the last Starter Package release (4.0.4-1.0.0) I noticed similar problems to what you're describing and we updated the registration template the Starter Package uses so it *should* be fixed in the default release but for older releases it is possible to get into a weird state like you saw.

Thanks,
jeff

Hello,

WEC starter pack is 4.0.3-1.0.0, I was running 2.5.2 of sr_feuser_register (I think!!) but upgraded to the latest version to see if it would solve the problem, this is before I realised it was taking it's template from elsewhere lol and wec_user version is 1.1.0. I'm glad this has been sorted for later versions as it was a little stressful. However it has forced me to become much more familiar with Typo3's workings than I perhaps would have otherwise done so I'll 'count it as pure joy brothers'

God Bless,
Mark
