Subject: HTTP404 error in Front END
Hi

On my local PC everything works fine. I succesfully installed Typo3 and I can see my website running.

I wanted to install it LIVE and unfortunately it failed...so far.
- The backend is working, I can see my pages.
- On the frontend I cannot see the pages through the menu, I have a HTTP404 error each time. Only the root page can be displayed.
I have no .htaccess installed anywhere as far as I am aware.

Any idea?
Thanks

Thierry,
The missing .htaccess file would be the issue. This file is present in the server2go package for your local PC and is in the Starter Package zip file, but perhaps it got missed in the upload. The file will need to go in the main directory of your website and if you need another copy of the file, let us know and we'll send it your way.

Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks Jeff

I think I have a issue with the extension RealURL. I turned it off and now I can see all pages apart the Menu Staff. At the moment I am using a temporary provider to host our church web site for testing purposes. I will look at this .htaccess anyway.
Configuring Apache is not simple when you are not an expert.
I will come back later on this URL issue but first I need to learn TYPO3 which is complicated enough. I will surely post other threads.
