Subject: Introduction for Translators
Greetings!

We could use your help in making the Web-Empowered Church's extensions truly globally evangelistic. If you would be willing to translate the extension labels for these extensions, would you please post a reply in the extension's thread, tell us what language you'll be translating the labels into, and a guess of about when you hope to be finished (so no one else will accidentally duplicate your work).

When you're finished, if you would post the results to the extension's thread so others can see the work you've done, and one of our WEC employees or volunteers will add them to the extension. We'll include the translations with the next release of the extension.

Thanks for your help!

Hello,
My name is Tim Brennan (Jr). I have lived most of my life in Brazil as a third-generation missionary kid going onto the fourth generation with my two children. I speak both English and Brazilian Portuguese fluently. What do I need to do to help in translation to Portuguese? I also need to know what kind of time-scale I would have to be under so I can see if it is possible to fit it in my ministerial duties in our church here in Chapecó.
I am so glad there is a place like this that allows us to set up a system like this for a new church (11 years).

Thank you.

Welcome Tim!

To get started, just start posting translations in Portuguese. We include all available translations in each new release of an extension. So as you provide them, they will get incorporated. We just ask that you monitor this forum and try to keep your translations up to date as more phrases are added to our extensions. If possible, please do all the extensions. There is no tight time deadlines or commitments except that the more up to date you are, the better we can serve people speaking your language.

In Christ,
Mark

I have added myself to the TYPO3 translators forum. They use an extension called llxmltranslate. I just added it to the backend and found out that I could do the translation of the wec extensions from there. I am not sure if they end up getting added to the official translations in TYPO3 or if they just translate locally.
Before I do anything, I would like to know what the effect would be if I began using this extension instead of following the translation here in this forum using the copy and paste techniques.
Either way is fine for me, it is just that the TYPO3 extension repository is updated on a nightly basis and I would really like to get the extensions up and running in the Brazilian Portuguese language soon.
Maybe I could update the language packages in the nightly builds?

No matter what decision is made, I will adhere to it so that there will not be confusion in the translation process.

Thanks.

Tim Jr.

Tim,

Currently please post them here. When you use the extension it updates to the local install. In time I hope we can do something more like the translation extension does. We will look at that.

In Christ,
Mark
