A blog is a powerful way for a pastor or leader at your church to share their thoughts, insights, or whatever they are thinking. Let a pastor share his thoughts on a sermon, or a teaching pastor give a Bible study, or a worship pastor shares music they played, or a class leader share additional help and discussion on their weekly class.

With a blog, you can get feedback if you open up to comments. These comments can be moderated. Or if you just want it for someone to share, you can set it up that way.

A forum is a way to build a community around given topics. It works best when many people are gathered and have an interest in a given discussion or topic. To start a forum off, you need a few who will post several times a week to keep the discussion going. If you will just have a 1-2 topics, a blog may serve you better. A forum is great for many topics and for larger audiences.

Here are some examples of how a forum can be used:

  • ministry team sharing a devotional -- one person leading a discussion each week
  • church sharing ideas for building and expanding ministries & facilities
  • moms sharing tips on how to be better parents
  • adults asking questions on the Bible, and others sharing what they've learned

You can try out the forum and see if it works for you. It's a great tool to build community!

A staff directory can be used to share a list of your staff. Besides displaying their name, title, department, photo, and contact information, you can setup for your staff to have their own page where they can write and update their biography and life stories.

This tool can also be used for adding a people directory for your whole congregation. Post photos and whatever information, and of course, you can put this behind a login so only people who attend your church can see it.
