Add a Start and/or Stop Date to a Page

You can set a start date and/or a stop date for a page.

If a stop date is set, the page will appear on the website on the day and time you set for the start date.

If an end date is set, the page will disappear from the website on the day time you set for the stop date.

  1. To begin, click Page at the left.
  2. In this example, the Christmas page will be set to appear on November 21st and will disappear on Christmas day.
  3. Click on the page icon and select Edit page properties from the Contextual Menu.
  4. Click on the Access tab to edit the Start and Stop date fields.
  5. There are two ways of entering data into the Start and Stop fields. You can use the calendar icon to choose a date or you can enter the data manually.
  6. Unless you specify Start or Stop times, TYPO3 will automatically input the current system time using a 24 hour clock.
  7. Start by clicking on the Calendar icon to the right of the Start field and click on the Next Month icon. Navigate to and select November 21st.
  8. Notice the calendar put the correct date in the field, but also entered the current system time. If you want the page to appear at a particular time, you can highlight the time and enter a specific time.
  9. The time format is based on a 24 hour clock, so AM times appear "normal" but you have to add 12 to any hour in the PM. Notice the time currently reads 13:22, which is 1:22 PM (12+1).
  10. Enter 3 AM (0300) in the Start field and press tab or enter to update the date and time field.
  11. Enter the time and date manually in the Stop field. This time set the Stop time to 11:59 PM on Christmas day. Again, press tab or enter to update the field.
  12. Click the Save document icon to save your work.
  13. Notice that the page icon changed to an icon with a timer on it. This indicates that the page has a start date set or an end date set.
  14. Now the page will automatically appear between the start and end dates. Otherwise the page will be hidden.
