Add Text Links Using the Text Editor
- This movie will show you how to create text links for internal pages, external pages, email responses, and for downloading files.
- To begin, log into the TYPO3 Backend and then select the Page Module. Next, select the page and the Content Element where you want to put a link.
- Next, click the Text tab.
Creating an Internal Link - To create a Text Link, highlight the text you want to become the anchor and then click the Insert Web Link icon.
- To create a link to an internal page, scroll down the Page Tree and click on the destination page.
Creating an External Link - To create a text link to an external URL (a different website), repeat the process of highlighting text and clicking the Insert Web Link Icon.
- To create an external link, click on the External URL tab. In the URL address field, enter the website's URL and then click the Set Link button.
Creating an Email Link - To create an email link, highlight the text for your anchor and once again click on the Insert Web Link icon.
- Click on the Email tab and insert the email address that is your target. Again, click the Set Link button to insert the link.
Creating a File Link - To set a link to download a file, select your anchor text and click on the Insert Web Link icon.
- Click on the File tab and then select the file in the Filelist that you want the link to point to. Once you've selected the file, click the Set Link button.
- Be sure to save your work when you're done. Click on the Save and View Page icon to check your work.
