Add Text to a Web Page
Learn how to add text to your web page.
Text elements can be added to web pages in any of the regions provided by the template.
- From the TYPO3 Backend, click on the Page Module at the left.
- The right side of the screen will display the layout of the web page. The regions with different titles show the template regions available for content.
- For the sake of this training, take a look at the Frontend by clicking on the View page icon.
- Note the content on this page, then return to the Backend.
- Click on an icon that looks like a document with a green circle and a plus sign to create a new content element. Choose an icon in the location where you want to add the content.
- The New Content Element screen displays at the right and lists the various content elements you can add to a web page. Click on the Regular Text Element.
- This is the Page Content form for the Text content element. It contains several fields. The most commonly used fields are the Header and the Text field.
- Enter a title. The title will display above the text. Scroll down to enter the main text.
- To add additional content, click on the Text tab. Then add content into the Text field.
- Click on the Access tab.
- The Access tab contains fields that allow you to limit access to the Content Element. You can set a Start date and time, and a Stop date and time. These can control when the content element begins displaying and/or when it stops displaying. Leaving them all blank causes the content element to display all the time.
- Click the Save and view page icon.
- Notice that the new content appears immediately in the Frontend.
