Change a Page Name (Pagetitle) - Advanced

  1. To change a page's title, begin by clicking on the Page Module.
  2. In the Page Tree, select the page you wish to edit and click on that page's icon.
  3. Select Edit Page Properties from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click in the Pagetitle textbox, delete the text, and type in the page's new name.
  5. If all you want to do is change your page's name, you can save your changes immediately and disregard the rest of this how-to.
  6. If you are concerned with optimal Search Engine placement, change the page title to a descriptive one that includes search terms you hope will be used when searching for your page and continue with the next two steps in this how-to.
  7. Because a long, descriptive name in a URL (the web page's address) is cumbersome, TYPO3 allows you to give the page an "Alias." This will be the URL navigation name. For best results, this should be either a one word title or multiple words run together or separated with _ or -.
  8. The Alias becomes the page's URL for website purposes. For instance, this one would be www.YourChurchURL.org/ministries/adults.
  9. Within TYPO3, the long page title will be used in the Bread Crumb navigation, which could be cumbersome.
  10. Change the page name in the Navigation title field to enhance the breadcrumb navigation.
  11. Finally, click the Save document and view page icon to see the results in the Frontend.
  12. Notice that the menu and breadcrumbs both reflect your changes.
