Change a Page Name (Pagetitle) - Advanced
- To change a page's title, begin by clicking on the Page Module.
- In the Page Tree, select the page you wish to edit and click on that page's icon.
- Select Edit Page Properties from the drop-down menu.
- Click in the Pagetitle textbox, delete the text, and type in the page's new name.
- If all you want to do is change your page's name, you can save your changes immediately and disregard the rest of this how-to.
- If you are concerned with optimal Search Engine placement, change the page title to a descriptive one that includes search terms you hope will be used when searching for your page and continue with the next two steps in this how-to.
- Because a long, descriptive name in a URL (the web page's address) is cumbersome, TYPO3 allows you to give the page an "Alias." This will be the URL navigation name. For best results, this should be either a one word title or multiple words run together or separated with _ or -.
- The Alias becomes the page's URL for website purposes. For instance, this one would be www.YourChurchURL.org/ministries/adults.
- Within TYPO3, the long page title will be used in the Bread Crumb navigation, which could be cumbersome.
- Change the page name in the Navigation title field to enhance the breadcrumb navigation.
- Finally, click the Save document and view page icon to see the results in the Frontend.
- Notice that the menu and breadcrumbs both reflect your changes.
