Copy a Page Tree
- To copy pages with their sub-pages from the Page Tree, or to copy the complete Page Tree itself, click on the User Setup Module.
- Set the Recursive Copy to a a number that reflects how many levels of sub-pages you want to copy. If you want all the sub-pages copied, you can set the Recursive Copy to a large number to ensure you copy them all.
In our example, we will be copying the whole Page Tree, so we will set the Recursive Copy level to 10 just to be sure. - Scroll to the bottom of the Form and click the Save Configuration button.
- Next, using the Page Module, click on the page icon of the top-level page you want to copy and select Copy from the pop-up menu.
- Click on the page icon where you want to paste the copied pages. From the pop-up menu, select either Paste After (as a same-level page directory) or Paste In (as sub-pages).
- IF YOU SEE A PAGE FULL OF ERRORS, like this one, DO NOT PANIC!
There appears to an error flag generated in the core of TYPO3 when Sys Pages are copied, but your pages and files will copy just fine. Simply click on the Page Module again to clear the screen. - Note that the top-level copied page bears the original name, except that it has been suffixed with (copy 1).
If you want to change its name, click on the page icon, select Edit page properties from the pop-up menu, and change the Pagetitle. - Because the Top Level page is still "Hidden," it will not appear in the Frontend immediately. This allows you to make changes to the new sub-pages before they're visible.
To make the pages available in the Frontend, click on the page icon and select Unhide from the pop-up menu. - Don't forget to open the User Setup Module and return the Recursive Copy to 0 to prevent copying sub-pages (until you need to copy multiple pages again).
