Move a Content Element

You can move content elements within pages and to other pages with a simple cut and paste operation.

  1. Login to the Backend, choose a page with a content element that you want to move.
  2. For this training, we're going to move the Welcome Text content element. Before we do, look at the page on the Frontend to see it's location.
  3. Click in the scissors icon for the content element you want to move (cut).

Note: You could also click the copy icon if you want to copy a content element. Or you could click on the Create Reference icon to create a reference copy that always contain the same information as the main copy.
  4. Once you click on the icon, notice that new Paste Element icons appear around the page wherever the content element could be placed. Click on one in a different location to move the content element to another place on this page.
  5. The Content Element moves immediately. View the page on the Frontend to see the change.
  6. Notice that the Content has been removed from this location ... and it's been moved to the Left Column.
  7. Now cut the Content Element and move it to a different page in the Backend.
  8. Click on a Paste Element icon to move the Content Element to this other page in a location that you choose..
  9. Note that the Content Element has moved.
  10. Click on the View page icon to see your work in the Frontend.
  11. See that the moved Content Element appears on the Frontend.
