Use the Text Editor: Paragraph Types

You can change the paragraph type and manage headers in the Rich Text Editor (often called the RTE).

  1. Use the Page Module and select the Page from the page tree that you would like to edit.
  2. Next, either create a new Content Element (click on the Page with the Green Plus) or on the edit icon in an existing Content Element.
  3. If the Content Element does not have a Header, it is a good habit to give it one now. Otherwise, scroll down to the RTE.
  4. To delete the existing text, you can click inside the RTE Text box and press Control-A and then press the delete key on your computer, or you can Click and drag over the text to highlight it and then press the delete key.
  5. Add some text in the RTE by typing in the text box.
  6. With the cursor placed within the paragraph you want to change, click on the down-arrow in the Type of paragraph dropdown menu. Then select the Heading style you prefer.
  7. Notice the size of the heading. This may or may not reflect the size or style of the heading in the Frontend. The Frontend display is determined by the template's CSS.
  8. Scroll to the top of the form and click on the Save and view document icon to see the heading's display in the Frontend.
  9. You will want to be familiar with the different heading sizes and styles in your chosen template as you create your text.
  10. Now, create a number of text lines and assign them different paragraph styles to become familiar with the options the template offers. Then save and view your work in the Frontend.
  11. Notice the differences in the headings. The colors, size, and even spacing are different. Keep these in mind as you create your text.
