View Pages from the Backend
While modifying content on pages within TYPO3, you often want to view the results of the changes on the actual Frontend page. Of course, you can always browse the website by typing in the web address directly. However, TYPO3 offers a few shortcuts that can allow you to view the page more easily. There are several ways to do this depending on where you are. Here are some of the ways.
Using the Show menu option
- Click on "Page" at the left.
- From the page tree, click on the page icon next to the name of the page that you want to view.
- In the popup menu, click the "Show" option.
- A second browser window will popup showing the page on the Frontend. You can close this browser window when you are done because the previous browser window remains open in the Backend.
While editing a page
- If you are editing a page in the Backend, you can click on the magnifying glass icon at the top of the page to open a second browser window with the current page displayed. Click on the magnifying glass icon.
- Again a second browser window will popup showing the page on the Frontend. Close the browser window.
Using View
- You can also view pages within the Backend using the "View" option. Click on "View"at the top left.
- Find a page you want to view in the page tree and click on the page.
- As you click on different page names in the page tree, the page appears in the pane at the right.
