WEC Assisted Upgrade to TV-Framework ... Step 2

As a Web-Empowered Church hosting client, you are able to request a site upgrade to the new TV-Framework templating system and the WEC Support Team will do the technical work for you. However, before you make this request, you should be aware that the upgrade does not come without creating some extra work for you.

First, you will need to prepare your existing site for the upgrade. WEC Assisted Upgrade to TV-Framework ... Step 1  tutorial will guide you through that process.

Second, once the WEC Support Team has made the upgrade, you will need to restore your existing Content Elements to each page. All of your previous content will still exist, but it will need to be repositioned in the Backend in order for it to appear in the Frontend. This tutorial will guide you through that process.

Restoring Your Content Elements Following the TV-Framework Upgrade

  1. Begin by logging in as an admin user to the Backend of your TYPO3 site.
  2. Click on the Functions module and then select the root page of your site.
  3. Select the Reference Unused Content Elements (templavoila) wizard from the dropdown menu.
  4. Select 3 Levels from the Reference Element dropdown menu.
  5. The form will indicate pages that have un-referenced Content Element. Click on the Reference elements for whole tree link and all of your Content Elements will be moved onto its respective page.
  6. The restored Content Elements will likely need to be rearranged on each page. In addition, by using the Flexible Content Elements you have almost unlimited layout possibilities on each page.
