WEC TYPO3 Starter Package

The goal of the WEC Starter Package is to simplify initial installation and setup so you can get started right away.

The WEC Starter Package is a preconfigured installation of the TYPO3 content management system with additional templates and commonly-used extensions. A "TYPO3 extension" is a packaged group of files that can extend the capabilities of TYPO3 in some way. There are hundreds of available TYPO3 extensions and the WEC Starter Package includes common extensions you are likely to need. The WEC Starter Package is made up of:

• The standard TYPO3 installation files
• Settings and configuration options for TYPO3
• Additional installed and configured common TYPO3 extensions
• WEC templates that you can choose from to set the look and feel of your website (more templates are available)
• A set of initial pages to get you started. You can use or remove them according to your needs

Note: The WEC Starter Package preserves the full power and flexibility of TYPO3 since all TYPO3 configuration options can still be changed as desired and the standard TYPO3 software is used. The added features in no way limit the experienced user as they can be removed if needed.

The WEC Starter Package is provided in two formats.  For UNIX-based systems that support symlinks, the tar.gz format should be downloaded.  For Windows based system, please download the zip file.

This install file is designed for rapid and easy installation to support WEC/TYPO3 testing and learning on your local PC or Mac. It contains a fully-functional web server with the WEC Starter Package pre-installed and ready to run. We call it the "WEC-TYPO3 Server."
