problems to publish from draft workspace

 hello,

I'm looking for some help with draft workspace.

I've set up some BE users which may only work in draft ws, and I've also set up some admin which may publish.
Actually it works, from 'edit' status to 'review' then 'publish', but when the admin 'publish' the content (with the little left arrow), the content is not visible on the website.
Looking in the backend, in list mode, I can notice that there's no value in the 'ref' column for the content created in draft ws, but some content created in the live ws have a value in that 'ref' column.
This means that no pages content any ref to the content I wish to publish, but why? and how to correct that?

I've searched for three days now, without success in understanding the problem.
Can someone help me?
