I can't seem to get the WEC Devo Journal to function correctly. I get an error message saying "Can't find requested dropdown definition". Also, I must be entering content incorrectly because I can't get the content to display. Anytime I have been able to get daily content to display is is only for the current day - no history/no future. Just can't seem to figure this ext out! Hope someone can tell me what I've done wrong. Thanks for your help! |

Hi Mary, The Devo Journal plugin can take a bit to install correctly. A few key things: a) you must setup Sections and then choose in the Devo Content a given Section. b) depending on the version of the WEC_DEVO, you may need to add a template otherwise you will not see anything. c) you need to set both the start and end date on given Devo Content. If it was for today, it would be start=1/10/11 and end=1/11/11. You can also set default Devo Content so start=1/1/11 and end=12/31/11 and it will appear there if nothing else is found. I hope this offers pointers. Let me know if you are still stuck and give some examples of what you have setup. If you are still stuck, email me (look at my profile) with a login/password to the TYPO3 backend of your site, and I can look at it for you. -Dave |

Thank you so much for your response Dave! This has been driving me crazy! I can't get the private messaging to work to send you the info. Perhaps if you emailed me at my website admin(at)ffwbwagoner[dot]org I can get the info to you that way. But let me give you an update and perhaps you can steer me in the right direction... I had lost my devo sample files and didn't know how to restore those (also thought I might have a corrupt file) I reinstalled the software! And I'm really glad I did cause I'm lovin' the new skins and features of typo 4.4! It looks like the 2nd example you gave for content will do what I'm wanting. But!!!...I'm still getting a serious file error. It occurs when a user is logged and accesses the devo page. A file error that begins with "Can't find the requested dropdown definition" (I press OK) Then a series of windows displaying different errors. At first I thought the browser was caught in a loop and ended with a task manager halt, but I kept pressing enter and worked through all the error messages. If I'm not logged in as a user there's no problem but there's no journal either. I've tried other browsers with the same results. Thanks again for your help, Dave! I anxiously await your reply. Have a blessed day! |

Hey, Dave! I just discovered this is a Windows 7 issue!!! I tried the devo on an XP enviro and it worked perfectly! That's all it can be...since all browsers worked the same on my Windows 7 it can't be Explorer 8 causing the issue. I'm thinking it's a cookies issue? I've had log in problems on other sites since installing Windows 7...what do you think??? |

I'm liking Windows 7 so much better than Vista so I'm optimistic about fixes. |

Hi Mary, We recently found that there are issues with the current WEC Devotional and the current version of TYPO3. This only happens with the journal on. If you turn it off, it should go away. Or if you set the plugin.tx_wecdevo_pi1.RTEenabled = 0, it will work fine. We are looking at it, and hope to have a new version out next week. -Dave |

While I had several issues with Windows 7 and had to go back to Vista (my pc won't support Win7) the WEC journal wasn't one of them. I downloaded the demo so I could brush up on a few things and the results were the same. A user when logged on gets an error message "can't find requested dropdown definition". It's okay as long a "enable journaling" is off. Thanks so much for your help - I'll be watching for an update. You guys do good work! |
