Hello,
Currently our website is not yet typo3, but 2011 may be the year that this will change. However some current functionality cannot be missed: when you look at our site (www.ebg-hetbaken.nl)
you don't see what we need for members: extra menu items and download section.
Attached is a pdf with two screenshots where you ca see what I mean: when a member is logged in there is a discussion forum and download section, where members can download the church magazines, address lists, etc. In the WEC package on the demo site I don't see this functionality. Who can tell me if our requirements can be implemented and how.
Also on the left site you see more options for Multimedia for members. I have seen that such behaviour is possible in WEC.

Fred,

This behavior is definitely possible in WEC. Any page or part of a page can be hidden from users who are not logged in, or shown only if no user is currently logged in. Each page or page element where this applies has an Access tab when being edited. I've attached a picture to show what the Access tab looks like for a page, and the hover-help that explains in a bit more detail.

So for what you want, you could create a forum page that is only visible to logged in users, or perhaps only logged in users who are in your "membership" group.

Particularly for forums, there is probably more to learn regarding administration for creating and maintaining forums, but this is the general pattern for limiting access. This site has a tutorial for how to limit access to either a page or an element on a page.

Hope this helps,

--Mark

Thanks for your answer. However I don't talk about forums. On the demo website I already saw the forum, but not a DOWNLOAD SECTION. See the screenshot
Thanks for responding!

One simple form of download page is demonstrated by our TYPO3 friend, Simon Browning of Seethrough Web in Toronto, Canada. This is sufficient if the number of files you would like to make available is small and changes do not need to be made too frequently. (Link: http://www.thedemo.ca/tutorials/how-to-link-upload-and-link-to-pdf-files.html)

There are other TYPO3 tools that allow management of libraries of media files if you need something more extensive than this.

Best wishes,
