Hi everybody. I tested "wec_map 2.4" at a typo3-installation v4.6. everything worked great. I also install the extension at my other typo3-project (v4.5.10). Install tt_address Install wec_map Add the static templates (wec_maps and tt_address) Insert my google-API-code Enable geocoding status (extensions > wec_map > settings) Insert some real test-addresses Insert a new Content Element Plugin > "wec_database_.." (pi3) And see .. nothing. "There doesn't seem to be anything to display. Make sure the map is configured correctly and there are users or markers set. " I see, that there´s no geodata in the table "tx_wec_cache". I insert the geodata manually and I see the map with the marker. why doesn't work my geocoding? I tried several API-codes (mydomain.com, www.mydomain.com, ..) At my Typo3 4.6-project everything works great, bit not at my 4.5.10 multilingual Website? I´ve no idea? ////////////////////// EDIT //// My second Site is a multilingual site. I tried to insert both API-Keys, but it Won´t work. www.mydomain.de and www.mydomain.com

Hoping someone can help. currently on our website we embed the sermons into the page. Here's an exmaple: http://pumchurch.org/learn-grow/sermons/ There are 2 things I'd like to be able to do and I'm a novice at typoscript: 1. Also make the file downloadable so users can play it as a podcast on their mp3 player. 2. make the embedded audio open in a new window. can you provide any direction? Thanks! Dave

"notfound" errors after template -> skin upgrade

I posted this issue as a support ticket today and here is the response from Bill Tenny-Brittian: I had the skin guys take a look and they relayed that the issues will be resolved with the next release, but that it isn't an issue of concern and the errors should just be ignored for now. So, two follow-ups for Bill: Does this apply to every site that has undergone the "old templates to new skins" upgrade by WEC? In that our skin files are not in the server-wide location, but rather saved in "fileadmin/templates" for local customization, will the eventual (automatic?) installation of the next release also resolve any possible issues with that localized copy? Thanks, David T

After having WEC do a "template to skin" upgrade for this site: http://westernjurisdictionumc.org/ we are now seeing 404 (notfound) errors for the following missing files: fileadmin/templates/CustomTouchOfElegance/css/dropdown/dropdown.linear.columnar.css fileadmin/templates/CustomTouchOfElegance/css/dropdown/themes/lwis.celebrity/default.advanced.css and I also see the following called in a conditional portion of the rendered HTML for the site: fileadmin/templates/CustomTouchOfElegance/js/jquery.dropdown.js none of those files are found in the custom template directory structure, and the calls to those files are coming from: fileadmin/templates/CustomTouchOfElegance/typoscript/skin_typoscript.ts So, since I didn't do the installation of this skin, I'm not sure if the calls in the ts file are superfluous/erroneous, or if we're actually missing the "css/dropdown" directory and its contents and the "js/jquery.dropdown.js" file. WEC folks...what's wrong with our setup? Thanks, David T

WEC Skins, Typo3 and DHTML

Hello, I kindly request your suggestions for development, improving the functionality of embellishment current WEC solutions. The point here is NOT "very precise how to do" and present your new solutions/scripts - but general suggestions. Two basic issues, that I think are interested for all WEC users: 1. Dynamic drop-down menu Our suggestion - sets free and ready to use javascripts: http://www.gosu.pl/menu/ What is your practical suggestion? 2. DHTML solution simile as: http://www.najlepszefoto.pl/ This is just an example of a "dynamic solution" rather than the model of beauty and elegance... The problem is related to "mouseover" and presentation the most important site elements, combined with the dynamic menu. I am convinced that individual and elegant solutions can be very interesting for each Parish or Christian Church. This solution is also using Javascripts incl. from www.gosu.pl/menu/ Where to put these scripts? How is optimal solutions? I suppose, if the same script is to be originally placed in the folder, then there should be. In the case where the code is contained in html, you must put it in Typo3 html module. I'm right? I kindly request to present your suggestions. Best regards,

WEC-MAP No maps are appearing on website

I've created a new WEC enabled site, but I have been unable to get the maps to work correctly. I have searched through the forums but none of the solutions have worked for my issue. Here are the steps that I have taken. 1) Installed the Maps Plug-In 2) Made sure the WEC-Map extension was installed 3) Obtained a Google Maps API and entered it into the WEC Map Admin 4) Ensured that the Maps API and Simple Maps Templates were included on the proper pages At this point I still have a pretty basic template site, it is using the default pages/structure that come with the standard install. When I bring up the directions page or the maps page they both appear to make room for the maps but nothing is displayed in the area. I've even tried creating an additional area below with another instance of the plugin. I set the width and height on this one to 40*40. The 40*40 area was created but once again it is a blank area. Any thoughts?

Allow Override Failed Failed Overriding Apache settings with .htaccess files is not allowed. I received information from our support: "I have checked the .htaccess file in the domain folder and I noticed that there was no Allow Override directive in it, which is causing the error you are seeing. This directive is necessary, but I am not sure how exactly should it be set, since we do not provide support for this software. Please try searching for what should be this Allow Directive in the .htaccess file for the TYPO3 to work properly." Wieslaw, I believe that AllowOverride is an Apache (web server) configuration that needs to be managed on your behalf by your hosting service. If I am correct, the information your support person gave you is wrong. Don't worry, this is not uncommon and sometimes you just need to be persistent. You probably need to know what PHP web applications your hosting provider does support. Do they support TYPO3 at all? If so, try to focus the conversation with hosting support on helping you ensure your account is fully set up to support TYPO3. If they don't support TYPO3 at all, you may need to become your own technical support, which is a bigger challenge, but still doable. Best wishes, --Mark

PHP Scripting Test >> Details: Consistent settings across directories	- false How we can resolve this error? What you mean exactly "consistent settings across directories"? This warning matches the explanation The PHP memory limit is not set consistently throughout TYPO3. Rather than setting this memory limit locally, please contact your hosting company and request that the limit be raised. On your site's server the PHP memory limit is configured in file(s) named php.ini. This warning suggests the best place to set a reasonable limit is in the server-level php.ini, which usually can't be changed by the user in a shared hosting environment. You probably have an extra php.ini file in one or more of the directories/folders in your website. If you would like some more info about where the server is reading its php.ini configuration from, you can install and view a phpinfo.php file to display more PHP configuration details. This resource (link) has instructions how to create this (simple) script if you don't already have a copy on your website. Best wishes, --Mark Mark, thank you very much for your answer.
Can I upgrade directly from 4.2.6 to the most current version of TYPO3?

If not directly, what path should I take to upgrade? Also, are there guidelines or instructions on upgrading? Usually you are safest to upgrade 4.2->4.3.x and then 4.3->4.4.x, etc, since each new 4.x version was created with an upgrade path from the immediately previous version most clearly in mind. However, the TYPO3 folks on their upgrade tutorial site indicate an upgrade directly from 4.2 to 4.4.x is doable. If your web hosting provider allows you shell access and you have access to create symlinks, the task of multiple upgrades is somewhat easier. The aforementioned tutorial includes a sketch for how this is organized. There are also instructions for which folders to delete and replace from the upgrade source if you want to do it that way. This site has a tutorial on upgrading to the newer templavoila template "skins". If you have the ability to create subdomains in your account, you may wish to back up your current site and do the upgrades to a non-public test site. This way, also, if any problems occur during some step in the upgrade your public site will not be affected until you've got any issues ironed out. This (multiple TYPO3 sites on the same server) is where symlinks will shine because you only have to upload the TYPO3 source once to the server rather than to each separate web site instance. This is just a sketch, and there are lots of moving parts, but it's certainly doable. Best wishes, --Mark

My best "guess" is that you're putting username in the Frontend Calendar Admin Users field. That won't work. You will need to use the user's UID. To find the UID, use the List Tool in the Storage Folder and mouse over a user's icon (the icon to the left of the username). A number will appear. That will be the UID. Put that in the Frontend Calendar Admin Users and you should be good to go. However, if that's not the issue I'm not sure what else the issue could be. Have you added the Frontend Views in the plugin? (Edit Event, Create Event, Delete Event, etc.) Also, you might want to try creating a Calendar Editing frontend group (note the UID) and then add that group to a test user (or to your own user account). Then update Cal's constants in the Constant Editor by adding the usergroup UID and removing the Frontend Calendar Admin Users. Bill T-B WEC Hi, I've been following the directions for enabling the calendar frontend editing, and I cannot seem to get it working. I've included the static extension on the calendar page, I've changed the calendar constants in the template to allow it, and indicated the user name to be given access. I've followed every direction in the manual, and tried all suggestions I've been able to find on the internet. But no luck. Anyone have any suggestions of what I'm missing? I'm running typo 4.5.3 and the calendar in question is at http://www.brunswickumc.org/news-and-events/test-calendar/ Thanks for any insight! Chris Chidsey

John, I tested this on your site and could not duplicate the issue. I created a weekly recurring event and saved it and it displayed as expected. Then I removed the recurrence from the record and resaved it and all of the extraneous instances went away. I also do not see any repeating event in January that matches the description you've indicated. If you're still being plagued by this, please put in a ticket and we'll take a further look. Bill TB WEC I edited an entry in the January calendar from a recurring entry back to a one time entry. After I selected the "Recurrence" tab and the screen changed to that page I selected the line I wanted to delete. As I started this the page did some kind of funky thing, by this I mean it change the screen appearance for a brief time. Once the screen settled down I was able to finish my delete and save for the change. Since that time I have a problem of this entry being on almost every date for the rest of the January calendar. It does not show up on the calendar list. How do I get rid of the unwanted entries? John Bowser

I ended up just swapping the photos which worked fine. I would be interested in hearing more about the swap-publish feature in Typo3. WEC is hosting the site. Thanks again for the help. John, I don't know if the WEC-hosted sites have the workspaces and versioning extensions installed, or whether they are supported by WEC hosting. If you have the capability to edit in a non-live workspace and publish to the live website, then you have workspaces enabled on your site. Otherwise (i.e. changes appear directly on the live site) you aren't using workspaces. The swap-publish feature requires workspaces to be enabled. However, start and stop dates for content areas is available even if you are not using workspaces. Happy New Year, --Mark

I thought of making a copy of the Home Page, change the photo and set a start and stop time for the copy. I would then set a stop date for the real Home Page. Then set a new start date for the real Home Page to restart this page after Christmas. John, I think you are on the right track, but might I suggest instead working with content areas on your existing home page and setting the start and stop dates for the individual content areas as necessary? This has worked well for us. TYPO3 also has a capability to swap-publish from a workspace (that is, swap the workspace version of the page to the live site and the live version of the page to the workspace). Your situation is probably the classic use case for this feature, where a certain set-piece special page is intended to be posted with no changes for a limited period of time. Especially good for a complete, but temporary, redesign of the page. I like working with content areas myself, though, because there are usually other posts that need to be made to the home page during a season of the church that have their own expiration dates. Peace, --Mark Mark, Thanks for your reply. Sorry it took so long. I had the topic marked to notify me by e-mail when a response was posted but that never happened. I ended up just swapping the photos which worked fine. I would be interested in hearing more about the swap-publish feature in Typo3. WEC is hosting the site. Thanks again for the help. I think you are on the right track, but might I suggest instead working with content areas on your existing home page and setting the start and stop dates for the individual content areas as necessary? This has worked well for us.
TYPO3 also has a capability to swap-publish from a workspace (that is, swap the workspace version of the page to the live site and the live version of the page to the workspace). Your situation is probably the classic use case for this feature, where a certain set-piece special page is intended to be posted with no changes for a limited period of time. Especially good for a complete, but temporary, redesign of the page.
I like working with content areas myself, though, because there are usually other posts that need to be made to the home page during a season of the church that have their own expiration dates.
Peace,
Mark,
Thanks for your reply.

Geert, Just wanted to give you a heads up that I've released an update for WEC Flash Player that works properly with TYPO3 4.6. Please note that static templates are required now, so you'll want to include the appropriate TS template on your sermons page. Thanks, Jeff Jeff, I am using typo3 4.5.4LTS. I get this notice on the webpage "It seems that we can't find a Flash movie or any configuration options to use. Please make sure you've added the Static Typoscript Template for WEC Flash Player." I have tried searching the forums but have not found the infomation on how to add static templates. I have used typo3 since 2008 and have upgraded several times, but have not had to add a static template. the Website is http://www.alpenafirstassembly.com/media/message-library/ thanks Kerry Never mind I found out how to do it thanks to Youtube. here is the link if anyone needs it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4V5Y7ARdz0 I have noticed that if you google "It seems that we can't find a Flash movie or any configuration options to use. Please make sure you've added the Static Typoscript Template for WEC Flash Player." there are many sight that have the same problem. I was particularly suprised that some Mike Slaughter's website had the same issue. thanks again. Kerry

Hi, I've been following the directions for enabling the calendar frontend editing, and I cannot seem to get it working.
