Creating a Backend Administrative User
Even if a user will be given full administrative privileges in the Backend, it is still important for each person to have their own Backend account. This improves security, allows you to know who else is logged in and possibly editing the same content as you, and the change logs will indicated who made which changes. Create a Backend user with full administrative privileges as follows.
- Click "User Admin" at the lower left.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
- Click on the "Add" icon which looks like a piece of paper with a plus sign on it.
- Enter a Backend username and password.
- Scroll down and set the "Admin" checkbox.
- In the popup window, click the "OK" button.
- Scroll down and enter the Backend user's full name and e-mail address.
- Scroll down and click the "Save and Exit" icon.
- In the "Backend User Administration" page scroll down to see the new administrative user in the list. Notice that the administrator icon is a person in a blue shirt. The new user can now login and use the Backend.
