When you start with WEC, we give you an initial layout of the pages -- what is called the website structure. You can see the structure of any site when you look at the menu -- what is at the topmost level and what pages are under that? A lot of decisions need to be made here, and what is great is that you can "try" different layout structures and see how they work for you. We recommend to go to other websites to see how they do their layout and see what you like or not.
The key is to determine how well this initial layout works for your church. If you are a smaller church, you can remove some items, while if you are a bigger church, you may want to add some items and rename others.
To change the structure of your website, you can do any of the following:
If you would prefer to name a page differently, you can easily do that here:
If you would like to move a page from one location to another, it is fairly easy. It is often done by Cut and Paste -- you cut one page from a section and paste it into the new location.
Adding pages are very easy to do as can be seen here:
Once you add a page, you will want to add content to the page.
If you do not want a page on the website, you can hide it. Hiding it is simply making it so that it will not be visible to users of your website. In the Admin section, you will still see it. You can hide it for a temporary time -- i.e., you will develop it later -- or as a possible wish list. Note that if you hide a top-level page, then all pages underneath it will be hidden too.
You can delete a page, but doing a 'delete' on a page is permanent. We recommend hiding until you get used to the system and are very definite about your plans. Note that when you delete a page, all content in that page as well as all pages underneath that page will be gone.
